Everybody likes music. Those who are in material enjoyment they also like music. Similarly those who are spiritual platforms they also like music. But what is the difference between material platform and spiritual platform of music? Those who are singing music on material platform they try to raise the consciousness into material world through material enjoyment. But those who are singing on spiritual platform they try to raise the consciousness into spiritual universe through love of God. But there is lots of investment for materially conscious people and raising the material consciousness through music into material platform. But there is almost no investment for spiritually conscious people to raise spiritual consciousness through spiritual music. The only reason is that spiritual song has its own potency that is not available in material song. That's why extra investment is needed for material musical song to keep them alive such that people always hear. What is that potency in the spiritual song? That potency is the purifying potency of soul. Where soul is automatically attracted there no other investment is required. Simply it drags the body without any force. That's why spiritual songs do not need any investment to make it popular. A song that comes from soul and listen by soul, does not need any extra investment. But only the criteria should be that the song must be sung by soul. Though it is not possible to find such singer who is soul without body that's why we need little investment that only from our heart. That is love of God. If we can sing a song that is full of love of God then that song will automatically be popular. That has the potency to bring soul nearby. It is like purifying sunlight for the house of soul that is our body. That's why we must sing song of Lord with a very melodious voice constantly absorbing in love of Lord Hari. When we can sing such song of love of Lord then automatically we will win all hearts of nearby people without any extra investment. In that context Prabhupada said "People should not misunderstand that we are a band of musical artists. They must know that we are devotees of Krishna. Our devotional practice and purity shall be so strong that wherever we chant there will be immediately an impression in the audience for devotion to Krishna". All glory to Lord Hari!
