How to achieve the state of Nirguna
Nirgunascha Brahmana Sudham
Taswya Guna Pabitram Hari
Ajanantam Tat Sindhu Bhakti
Bhakti Purna Bhaja Hari
When one achieves all perfection becoming Nirguna that is without attribute, one achieves purity of Brahman. That kind of purity always purifies Lord Hari who Himself is above all attributes and supreme Brahman. Though in that state one is unknown about supreme Lord just like being middle in the ocean of devotion but one must be chanting only holy name of Hari in complete devotion.
PURPORT:
What is the state of nirguna? That means attributeless. If one has no attribute then one is residing above all attributes, these are from this mode of material nature. And that is the pure state of Brahman who is always embodiment of purity and above mode of material nature that becoming attributeless. Such a purity always purifies Lord Hari Himself because Lord Hari is above all material mode of nature and attributeless Supreme Brahman. Since Lord is attributeless thats why Lord remains invisible without attribute. If one achieves that state then one feels like living in the middle of the transcendental ocean lonely. Thus one has no other way but to live alone only by chanting name of supreme Lord Hari. Once this devotion is purified and achieves all purification to the satisfaction of Hari, then one can get mercy of Hari. Lord manifests His own nature and becomes visible. This kind of perfection is achieved even by creator Brahma in the very begining of the creation of this universe. When Brahma could not see anybody residing in the middle of the trancendental ocean, He could not stay alone for long time but started chanting the holy name of Hari. Finally Hari manifested Himself and bestowed His mercy. Thus, devotion and chanting of holy name is only way in such a miserable condition. How can one achieve such a stage of pure devotion? To understand that one must remember one quote from Prabhupada like this "We don't drink Coca-cola. We don't drink Pepsi-cola. We don't smoke. So many things which are selling in the market in huge quantity by advertisement, by victimizing the poor customer, but they are called unnecessary things. There is no need of such things". Here Prabhupada mentioned that by performing complete renunciation from material goods these are always available plenty in material mode of life, one can achieve perfection of attributeless. Thus one must completely renounce the entire material world to achieve state of attributeless that is Nirguna. If one can go above all these material attributes, one can become then Nirguna. And after that state, one must be engaged completely in devotional services of Hari to get His mercy and vision. All glory to Lord Hari! All glory to Prabhupada! All glory to Pancha Tattva! All glory to Narahari Narashima Dev! All glory to associates Vaisnava! Hare Krsna! Haribol!
