Another meaning of Sastra is weapon. That means protection. Everybody takes shelter in Sastra. Thus everybody wants to be best protected by keeping best weapon nearer to their chest. One must not give up the best protecting weapon for free like Karna. Lord Krsna even begged for such protected weapon from Karna in favor of Arjun. Thus protective weapon must not be distributed in public for free until it goes to the right person. Similarly, sometimes what is very easy to get it becomes very easy to throw. But those who worship word of Lord and looking for religious scripture for protection there only wisdom of Lord is very useful. In Vaisnava Parampara, one must not discuss confidential knowledge about Lord Krsna to non devotees. Similarly, one must not put very confidential Vaisnava Philosophy in public that can not be understood. But scriptures these are not confidential in nature can be distributed with a simple token of invitation for free Prasadam from nearby Krsna temple. That will help one onlooker to get some message about Krsna as well as His divine mercy with nice Prasadam. That could be a divine blessing on behalf of Prabhupada and His holy mission ISKCON.
