PURPORT:

Lord Vishnu incarnated as an avatar of tortoise and took all load on His back for churning of ocean. In this churning both demon and demigods participated. After the churning of the Ocean amrit came out and seeing amrit both demons and demigods started fighting who can drink this divine nectar first. Seeing them fighting Lord Vishnu took the form of one beautiful woman named Mohini. Seeing her divine beauties both demigods and demons are attracted and wanted to enjoy with her. Lord started dancing and took all of them to one beautiful place and asked them to seat separately one side demigods and other side demons. Both of them obliged Lord and Lord started dancing and singing while distributing amrit to both side. But one demon who could see Lord not giving amrit to demons, took form of demigod and sat in demigods site and drank amrit. In other side all other demons drank only some divine water. Once Lord recognized the demon Lord cut that demon with His divine weapon sudarsan chakra and the demon becomes into two pieces. That two parts are like two tortoises one is male and another is female. They started dancing thinking that they became immortal and never can be killed since they drank amrit. But unfortunately they could not come together as they become two separate pieces and because of that they can not do any harm to demigods. Though they together moves in the sky becoming Rahu and Ketu but they are not powerful like demigods and always defeated by demigods. Thus Hari is supreme protector of demigods and one must always offer devotional services to the supreme feet of Hari to get His mercy. Otherwise one will become demon and will be cut into pieces like Rahu and Ketu. All glory to supreme Lord Hari. All glory to Narahari Narashima Dev! All glory to Madan Mohan! All glory to Prabhupada!
