In this eve of Jagannatha Ratha Yatra, what can we offer to the supreme Lord of universe Lord Jagannatha? How can a devotee like us get spiritual love of Lord Jagannatha similar to the divine spiritual mood expressed by Chitanny Mohaprabhu during the Ratha Yatra festival? The answer is only through the devotional service to the Lord Jaganntha and by pleasing Mohaprabu by chanting holy name of Lord Hari and presenting our Lord in supreme cleanliness decorated with divine costumes ,flowers, perfumes and offering of prayers to every heart those present in front of Lord. That’s why one must apply devotional services towards the Lord with utmost care and engage in every service including cleaning of temple just like Mahaprabhu personally presented clean temple to the festival of Ratha Yatra. Mohaprabhu Himself used to inspect the entire temple cleaning process to make sure that the temple was completely clean as per His wishes. Just like a devotee can participate cleaning of temple, making the whole atmosphere filled with spiritual mellows and joy, similarly also a devotee must clean their own soul by chanting holy name of Lord Hari to be engaged in to such devotional service to the Lord. A festival is a special occasion when many people visit the temple which must be kept clean and also be served with utmost care and love before the Lord and His devotees. Similarly during such festival we must offer ourselves to the service of Lord not only becoming physically clean but also becoming clean within our soul. Thus chanting of holy name of Lord Krsna through sankirtan and creating a very clean spiritual atmosphere filled with joy and love towards Godhead within every devotee should be our primary goal to offer ourselves to the devotional services of Lord Jaganntha and to please Mohaprabhu.
